The general purpose of the USTA SNM shall be to promote tennis within its geographical boundaries by promoting, advancing and sponsoring amateur tennis, particularly among the youth in the area, and instructing and educating individuals of all ages in the sport of tennis. It shall also be to promote tennis by:
- Awarding and sanctioning tournaments, and establishing area championships and exhibition matches held within the geographic boundaries of the USTA SNM.
- Promoting interest and activity in tennis by holding tournaments as part of the local and national intercollegiate, interscholastic and public parks programs; encouraging junior development through cooperation with local authorities and endeavoring to improve playing conditions and standards of play.
